The Unknown Details:

  • each Water bottle tray on the lower two windows were spray painted [dream: gold metallic spray to represent: "roads paved with gold" & reality sequence: silver metallic spray to represent "the silver lining"]
  • each label represents an imagery from one of the thirty more interviews made with a diverse group of immigrants. the immigrant interivew brochure/booklet can be previewed at the visitor centre at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum
  • the bottles were taken from the recycled bins [location will not be revealed]
  • the upper two windows are filled with FULL 3 gallon water bottles, which took heavy lifting to install
  • some bottles are leaking, hopefully the musuem doesn't know that
  • the bottom two windows are lit via two ceiling fluorescent panels with four cathode tubes of light, that works kind of like a light box
  • the top two windows are back-lit to have a kind of "ice-cubed" glowing effect [as Bob would put it]
  • Many thanks to my friends: Salina [Mother], Daniela, Karen Ko, Tanya Hsu, Tiffiny Morris, and mother's two friends 'Gou Ma' and 'Gou Jiah' for their time and helping hands. And also Derick for the wonderful mystery 'Printer'
  • Also, many thanks to the people at the Museum who were so support, with Special thanks to: Maggie, Steve, Lena, Bob, and Nikia.
